Terry Ruot's Charter Plastics Venom Twin Turbo makes history by setting the highest chassis dyno number ever recorded by a Viper: 1123 Rear Wheel HP! This was the actual number in 57 deg. F air. The SAE corrected dyno number was 1093 RW HP. The measured torque is estimated to be over 1200 lb-ft. at the rear wheels.

Hennessey Vipers have logged hundreds of miles in Open Road races at speeds up to 210 mph. This includes a 2nd place overall finish at the 1995 Silver State Classic where our first Venom 600 averaged 165 mph for the 90 mile race. This same car was driven from TX to NV and back, a round trip total of almost 4,000 miles.

The car pictured is the first Venom 650R built. When this car was still a bone stock 1996 Viper it competed in the 1997 Elko Twin 50 Open Road Race. Driver John Hennessey and Navigator Larry Macedo AVERAGED 168 mph over the first 50 miles of the course and AVERAGED 177 mph over the final 45 miles to place 2nd overall. This is the highest sustained average speed ever recorded for any Viper on a public road.
